Willem Alexander is the first king in the Netherlands since 1890. Queen Wilhelmina reigned from 1890 to 1948, Juliana from 1948 to 1980, and Beatrix from 1980 to 2013. Since Willem Alexander's daughter Princess Catherina-Amalia is next in line to the throne, he could well be the only Dutch king for close to two centuries.

These are the first circulating coins of the new king and a necessity fro every collector of the coins of the Netherlands. The first coins of Queen Beatrix were issued in 1982, when 242,701 uncirculated mint sets were produced. Willem Alexander's first set is restricted to just 25,000 and is sure to sell out quickly.
