The name derives from “to spin”; these animals jump high out of the water and spin around their own axis like a spinning top. The beautiful sea mammals congregate in groups that vary from just a few dolphins to great numbers up in the thousands. The body length of one of these dolphins lies between 4 and 7½ feet and can weight up to 175 pounds.
