EllenThe people in the picture are Ira and Ellen Friedberg and their grandson. We recently learned that Ellen has been diagnosed with Stage 5 chronic kidney disease. Stage 5 means that Ellen’s kidneys have failed. The kidneys help the body to filter blood and eliminate toxins. This means that Ellen will require dialysis, and eventually a live donor kidney transplant, which is her best chance for survival. We hope there are people who will be willing and able to be tested to be a donor. She has been approved and listed at Hackensack Hospital in New Jersey.
