HUNGARY’S E.U. COUNCIL PRESIDENCY 2011 This coin sold out in Hungary within days of issue in January, but we were sure to have some reserved for North American collectors. For the first time since it joined in 2004, Hungary succeeded Spain and Belgium to begin its turn as head of the Council of the European Union from Jan. 1 to June 30. Its priorities include stabilizing the European economy, EU expansion, an energy summit and the integration of Roma people.
