100th ANNIVERSARY OF THE FIRST HUNGARIAN POSTAL CAR

The first Hungarian car was designed for the Hungarian Post, by János Csonka , a mechanical engineer. Its first test trip was on 31 May 31, 1905, successfully completing a 2000 kilometer trip around the country. As such, Hungary was one of the first countries to use cars in mail delivery (from 1909), using this model for the next two decades. For several years, the cars also transported passengers.
